TECHNICAL CALCULATORFORMULA INCLUDED

Technical calculator

Tube Size Calculator

Calculate tube wall thickness, metal area and estimated weight from outside diameter, inside diameter, length, density and quantity.

Tube Size Calculator

Enter tube diameters, length, density and quantity.

FormulaWeight (kg) = π × (OD² − ID²) ÷ 4 × length × density × quantity ÷ 1,000,000.

Enter values and keep the result with the quotation assumptions.

Calculation result

Enter values and calculate.

Estimate uses annular tube area and supplied density. Confirm the section drawing and scale weight before shipment.

Tube Size Calculator basis and limits

This calculator estimates tube wall geometry and mass from the entered diameters, length, density and quantity.

Confirm the tube standard, tolerance, end condition, pressure requirement and supplier documentation before ordering.

Important Use the result for quotation preparation and early planning; it does not replace a certified measurement, drawing review or supplier confirmation.

Calculation method

Formula and worked example

01

Tube Size Calculator formula

Use the inputs and units shown in the calculator, then review the assumptions before using the estimate.

Weight (kg) = π × (OD² − ID²) ÷ 4 × length × density × quantity ÷ 1,000,000.
02

Worked example

A tube with 50 mm OD, 46 mm ID and 1,000 mm length at 7.93 g/cm³ weighs approximately 2.392 kg before packing.

π × (50² − 46²) ÷ 4 × 1,000 × 7.93 ÷ 1,000,000 ≈ 2.392 kg
