Specify stainless steel sheet from duty to finish.

Translate service conditions into a reviewable sheet requirement: governing standard, grade, thickness, dimensions, surface finish, processing, inspection, and destination.

Sheet selection path

Start with the service requirement, not a grade shortcut.

A useful enquiry separates what the sheet must do from the material designation. Record the environment and fabrication route first, then align grade, condition, dimensions, and acceptance criteria with the governing specification.

01 / Service conditions

Describe where the sheet will work.

State the medium, temperature range, exposure, cleaning regime, forming or joining route, and any appearance or hygiene constraints.

Material suitability and engineering approval remain project decisions.

02 / Standard

Name the governing document.

Record the ASTM, EN, JIS, or project specification reference and revision required by the buyer.

03 / Grade

Use the matching designation.

Tie the grade name and supply condition to the selected standard; do not assume that similarly named designations are interchangeable.

04 / Geometry

State thickness, size, and tolerance.

Include nominal thickness, width, length, quantity, dimensional tolerance, flatness, and any required grain or finish direction.

05 / Surface

Define the required finish.

Separate mill condition, visual finish, roughness or directional criteria, and protective-film or handling instructions.

06 / Processing & QA

Attach the acceptance detail.

Describe blanks, cut profiles, edges, holes, forming needs, inspection points, test requirements, marking, and requested documents.

Current sheet directory

Browse every sheet grade page already in the catalog.

These are the site’s current grade-specific sheet routes. Use them for research, then verify the applicable standard, condition, dimensions, surface, and project suitability in the enquiry.

The directory preserves all current sheet detail URLs. Final material suitability must be checked against the governing specification and service conditions.

Quote-ready worksheet

Make every sheet requirement visible.

A complete specification reduces hidden assumptions. If a field is not yet known, mark it for supplier review rather than inventing a value.

Review the buyer’s guide
Field What to state Why it matters
Standard & grade Document reference, revision, designation, and required condition Sets the governing material and acceptance language
Thickness & dimensions Nominal thickness, width, length, quantity, and dimensional tolerance Defines the requested sheet geometry
Surface finish Finish designation, face, grain direction, roughness criteria, and protection Aligns appearance and downstream fabrication needs
Processing Blank size, cut profile, edge, holes, forming notes, and drawing reference Clarifies the requested supply scope
Inspection Flatness, visual acceptance, test, marking, traceability, and document requirements Makes buyer acceptance criteria reviewable
Delivery context Destination, packaging constraints, requested date, and contact details Allows a supplier to assess the commercial request

Sheet sourcing

Bring standard, size, finish, processing, and destination into one request.

Send the fields you know and clearly identify the points that require supplier review. Availability, capability, documentation, schedule, and commercial terms must be confirmed for the specific enquiry.
