Widely used for structural frames, brackets, equipment supports and architectural fabrication in moderate environments.
Stainless Steel Angle Bar
Specify stainless steel angle bar by grade, leg dimensions, thickness, equal or unequal geometry, production route, tolerance, finish and length. Use the references below to turn a general request into a clear purchasing specification.
Product overview
What to define before buying stainless steel angle bar
Angle bar is normally ordered by leg × leg × thickness. A complete specification should also state grade, equal or unequal legs, production route, length, dimensional tolerance, surface condition and any cutting or fabrication requirement.
Common for frames, brackets, supports, architectural work and general corrosion-resistant fabrication.
Often selected for washdown, coastal, food-process and chemical environments requiring improved chloride resistance.
Specify both leg dimensions and thickness, for example 50 × 50 × 5 mm or 75 × 50 × 6 mm.
The route affects corner radius, leg profile, surface appearance, dimensional tolerance and fabrication behavior.
M03 · Grade selection
Choose the grade from corrosion, welding and service requirements
Angle bar is commonly welded, drilled, cut and incorporated into frames or supports. Grade selection should reflect the actual exposure, fabrication process and required corrosion resistance.
Low-carbon route commonly selected when welded assemblies require good corrosion performance without post-weld heat treatment.
Common for coastal, washdown, food-process and chemical-service structures where chloride resistance is more important.
Selected for specific temperature or project requirements when standard 304 or 316 routes do not match the design basis.

| 25 × 25 mm | 3 / 4 mm | 304 / 304L / 316 / 316L | Formed / hot-finished | Common light fabrication section |
| 30 × 30 mm | 3 / 4 mm | 304 / 316L | Formed / hot-finished | General supports and fabricated frames |
| 40 × 40 mm | 4 / 5 mm | 304 / 304L / 316 / 316L | Hot-finished / formed | Common medium fabrication size |
| 50 × 50 mm | 5 / 6 mm | 304 / 304L / 316 / 316L | Hot-finished / formed | Frames, supports and equipment bases |
| 60 × 60 mm | 5 / 6 mm | 304 / 316L | Hot-finished | Confirm leg tolerance and inside radius |
| 65 × 65 mm | 6 / 8 mm | 304 / 316 / 316L | Hot-finished | Medium structural fabrication |
| 75 × 75 mm | 6 / 8 mm | 304 / 316 / 316L | Hot-finished / welded | Heavy frames and support structures |
| 80 × 80 mm | 6 / 8 mm | 304 / 316L | Hot-finished / welded | Project-dependent availability |
| 100 × 100 mm | 8 / 10 mm | 304 / 316 / 316L | Hot-finished / laser welded | Heavy support and fabricated assemblies |
| 120 × 120 mm and larger | 10 mm+ | 304 / 316L / project grades | Hot-finished / welded / fabricated | Large sections are commonly project-specific |
| 75 × 50 mm unequal | 5 / 6 mm | 304 / 316L | Formed / welded | State both legs, thickness and orientation requirement |
Market reference only: stainless angle is commonly specified by leg × leg × thickness. Hot-finished equal angles may have a filleted inside corner and a slightly different profile from sharp-corner formed angles. State the required route, dimensions, thickness, length and tolerance in the RFQ.
M05 · Dimensions and finish
Define the leg geometry, thickness and production route
Two angle bars with the same nominal leg size can still differ in inside radius, outside profile, squareness, thickness tolerance and surface condition depending on the manufacturing route.
Dimensions
- Equal or unequal leg dimensions
- Nominal thickness
- Inside corner radius if critical
- Leg squareness / angle tolerance
- Standard length or cut length
Production route
- Hot-finished / hot-rolled angle
- Cold-formed / press-brake angle
- Laser-welded / fabricated angle
- Custom unequal angle
- Cut, drilled or notched processing
Surface & processing
- Mill / pickled surface
- Brushed or polished visible surfaces
- Sawn / plasma / laser cut ends
- Drilling / slotting / fabrication
- Protected packing for finished surfaces

Worked example
Example of a clear angle bar specification
A usable request defines leg dimensions, thickness, grade and production route instead of ordering only by a general “stainless angle” description.
Example only
This is a normal buying example, not a live-stock claim. Final requirements should follow the project drawing, load case, corrosion environment and fabrication plan.
M08 · Applications
Where stainless steel angle bar is commonly used
Equipment frames, machine supports, platforms, racks and corrosion-resistant structural assemblies.
Mounting brackets, edge reinforcement, corners, guards and fabricated support details.
304L and 316L angles are commonly used in fabricated frames, skids and washdown equipment structures.
