Plan the handover before the material leaves the mill.

A usable stainless steel delivery request identifies the product, supply condition, packing expectation, destination and documentation needed for receiving.

01 / DELIVERY SCOPE

Three decisions make the shipment easier to receive.

Confirm what needs to arrive, how it must arrive and what evidence travels with it.

01

Material identity

State grade, product form, dimensions, finish and the governing specification.

02

Delivery condition

Set quantity, coil or bundle configuration, tolerances, surface protection and handling constraints.

03

Receiving evidence

Request the certificates, marking, packing list or inspection records needed at destination.

02 / BEFORE DISPATCH

Write the shipment instructions into the RFQ, not into an email afterward.

Commercial availability and freight arrangements still need supplier confirmation, but clear instructions prevent avoidable rework once the order is released.

Open RFQ checklist  →
  1. 01Delivery location and receiving contact
  2. 02Required delivery date or lead-time window
  3. 03Packaging, labeling and lifting restrictions
  4. 04Required certificates and inspection release
  5. 05Any export, customs or site-access constraints

03 / PACKING & DOCUMENTS

Specify the evidence that has to travel with the material.

Traceability

Connect product markings, heat or batch identity and certificates to the received material where required.

Read traceability guide →

Inspection release

State witness, hold-point, test-report or verification requirements before dispatch is arranged.

04 / RECEIVING CONTROL

Keep delivery risk visible until the material is accepted.

Quantity mismatch

Match ordered quantity, package count and receiving records before material is moved into stock.

Document gap

Check that the certificate and inspection evidence refer to the material and acceptance basis requested.

Transit damage

Inspect packaging, surface protection and visible damage before unloading is closed out.

Identity uncertainty

Quarantine unclear material until markings, records and order details can be reconciled.
